Angie Katsanevas playfully mocked her “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” co-star Lisa Barlow after Ben Affleck claimed not to remember meeting her. The joke began when a Bravo fan page shared a clip of Affleck seeming unaware of ever encountering Barlow. Katsanevas commented, “[Ben] didn’t know Lisa but he recognized Celia,” referring to her poodle—previously blamed by co-star Mary M. Cosby for farting during a Season 6 scene.
The dispute originated from a Season 6 episode where Barlow cited plans with Affleck and Blake Lively as her reason for skipping a group trip. During a FaceTime call with Katsanevas, Barlow stated, “I’ll be with Ben Affleck and you’ll be with Bronwyn,” referencing her dislike for co-star Bronwyn Newport.
When questioned about the encounter by Access Hollywood, Affleck expressed confusion: “I don’t know what this is—an event in Salt Lake City? Prove somebody right or wrong?” He admitted he hadn’t visited Utah in nearly a decade and couldn’t recall meeting Barlow, adding, “I don’t want to be the jerk who says, ‘I did meet you.’ You don’t remember everyone you meet.”
Barlow later responded on social media, clarifying they met at March’s SXSW festival in Austin, Texas, during the premiere of Affleck’s film “The Accountant 2.” She called it a “great movie and party” and shared TikTok footage showing Affleck on the red carpet and Lively speaking at the “A Simple Favor” sequel premiere.
