Ariana Grande recently reflected on her past fashion choices in an interview with Vogue, revisiting 21 iconic looks from her career. One standout era was her 2018 style of oversized sweatshirts paired with thigh-high boots, which she described as a “very strange time” in her life. Grande explained she sought comfort in cozy clothing while processing personal struggles, noting the boots still made her feel confident.

This period coincided with significant hardships, including the aftermath of the deadly 2017 Manchester Arena bombing at her concert, her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller’s accidental overdose death in 2018, and her short-lived engagement to Pete Davidson. She credited Miller with helping her embrace her natural brown hair and artistic identity, saying he “encouraged me to be myself.”

Grande also addressed her iconic red hair from her Nickelodeon “Victorious” days, joking she “signed over” her hair color for the role of Cat Valentine. She defended her signature straight eyebrows against critics, stating, “I love them. I’m so sorry. I hope that’s okay.” The star recently debuted blonde hair for her role in the upcoming “Wicked” adaptation.
