The texts, revealed in recently unsealed court documents, show Jamil and Abel criticizing Lively’s approach to promoting the film, which addresses domestic violence. They deemed her focus on her haircare line and fashion choices instead of the movie’s serious theme as “tone-deaf.”
Abel initiated the exchange by sharing a TikTok video critical of Lively’s promotion tactics, describing her behavior as “UNBELIEVABLE.” Jamil responded by labeling Lively a “suicide bomber,” while Abel used vulgar language to mock Lively’s subsequent post linking to a domestic violence hotline. Jamil called the gesture “so cold,” and Abel deemed it “sick.” The duo further disparaged Lively, with Jamil calling her actions a “bizarre villain act” and declaring her career “Over over.”
Separately, private texts between Lively and Taylor Swift showcased tension in their friendship amid the Baldoni feud. Swift expressed feeling a “shift” in their dynamic, accusing Lively of communicating like she was “reading a mass corporate email.” Lively apologized, citing fears her texts might become public. Swift also called Baldoni a “bitch” with a “tiny violin” in the exchange. Sources indicate the pair have not communicated since.
Lively’s legal battle with Baldoni began in August 2024 when rumors of their feud surfaced. She later sued him for sexual harassment, which he denied, countersuing for defamation. A judge dismissed Baldoni’s $400 million countersuit and a related libel claim against the New York Times, though Lively’s original lawsuit remains ongoing.
