TikTok sensation and comedian Connor Wood, better known online as @fibulaa, recently shared a hilarious reaction to being featured on Dua Lipa’s Instagram. Wood told NYC Faces that when he first saw his phone exploding with notifications, his mind immediately went to the worst-case scenario: a family emergency. He was relieved to find that the chaos was actually due to the “Dance The Night” singer including one of his tweets in a recent photo dump.
The tweet in question featured Wood joking about how often he dreams of being included in one of the pop star’s social media posts. Reflecting on the moment, Wood joked that he had “manifested” the interaction and teased that meeting the singer in person would likely grant him “Spider-Man-like powers.” He also admitted that he had already tried reaching out to her via direct messages prior to the shout-out.
Since his rise to fame during the 2020 lockdowns, Wood has become a staple in the creator community, co-hosting the popular “Brooke & Connor Make a Podcast.” His brushes with fame haven’t stopped at Dua Lipa; he revealed he is now on friendly terms with several Hollywood stars, including Alexandra Daddario, Reneé Rapp, and “Outer Banks” leads Chase Stokes and Madelyn Cline. Despite his growing status, Wood says he still finds it “bonkers” to be invited into the same rooms as major celebrities.
Wood is now preparing to take his digital success to the stage with his first national stand-up tour, titled “Fibs & Friends.” The 11-city tour, which kicks off in 2024, will feature Wood and a rotating cast of his funny friends performing in cities like Brooklyn, Chicago, and Nashville. After years of building a following on TikTok, Wood expressed that headlining a tour is a dream come true and that he is eager to finally connect with his fans in person.
