Donald Trump Jr. and Palm Beach socialite Bettina Anderson are engaged following a proposal at the historic Camp David. The couple visited the Maryland presidential retreat over the weekend to celebrate Anderson’s 39th birthday, where Trump Jr. reportedly proposed on Saturday.

The engagement was officially confirmed by President Donald Trump during a White House event. Welcoming the couple to the stage, the President remarked on their strong relationship and jokingly referred to it as “young love.”

Members of the Trump family have expressed their enthusiasm for the union. Ivanka Trump shared her excitement for the couple’s next chapter, while Eric Trump noted his close friendship with Anderson and stated that the pair are “fantastic together.”

Inland sources indicate the proposal had been planned for some time and that Anderson is thrilled with the news. This engagement comes roughly a year after the couple began dating. Their relationship started shortly after Trump Jr. ended his previous engagement to former Fox News personality Kimberly Guilfoyle, who was recently appointed as the U.S. Ambassador to Greece.

Trump Jr. was previously married to Vanessa Trump, with whom he shares five children, until their divorce in 2018. Following his split from Guilfoyle last December, Anderson became a consistent presence at family events, including the inauguration and various functions at Mar-a-Lago, before moving in with Trump Jr. earlier this year.
