Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been arrested after weeks of revelations of his friendship with convicted rapist Jeffrey Epstein.

The former prince was arrested Thursday — his 66th birthday — on suspicion of misconduct in public office, an offense that carries a maximum life sentence in prison in the UK.

Without identifying him, the Thames Valley Police issued a statement explaining that they have “arrested a man in his sixties from Norfolk on suspicion of misconduct in public office and are carrying out searches at addresses in Berkshire and Norfolk.â€
