Gov. Andrew Cuomo is organizing a virtual fundraiser tied to his birthday and the holidays, with supporters asked to donate up to $10,000 for access. The online event, scheduled for December 17—over a week after his actual 63rd birthday on December 6—promises appearances by celebrities including Robert De Niro, Rosie Perez, Whoopi Goldberg, Henry Winkler, and Ben Stiller.
Top-tier donors contributing or raising $10,000 will gain entry to a 30-minute pre-event gathering and receive “flex tickets” allowing friends to attend the main reception later. Lower donation tiers range down to $50 for single-access passes targeting younger Democrats and activists. Attendees at all levels, however, must provide their own refreshments, as the virtual format offers no catering. The event aims to bolster Cuomo’s campaign finances while adapting traditional fundraising to an online format during the pandemic.
