Isaac Mizrahi described meeting Timothée Chalamet on the set of “Marty Supreme” as thrilling yet nerve-wracking, calling the actor a “dreamboat” during an interview with Page Six. Chalamet surprised Mizrahi by asking for a selfie, which Mizrahi found endearing.
Mizrahi, who plays Gwyneth Paltrow’s publicist in the film, landed the role through his long-standing connection with director Josh Safdie, whom he has known since Safdie was a child.
The designer is now preparing for his cabaret show, “A.I. Artificial Isaac,” at Café Carlyle from February 3 to 21, marking his 10th anniversary at the venue. The show will touch on aging, a theme Mizrahi joked feels “shitty.” He expressed disdain for milestones like birthdays and anniversaries, stating they highlight the passage of time. Mizrahi also humorously lamented aging’s physical challenges, such as navigating stairs.
The New York Film Critics Circle Awards, where Mizrahi spoke, also featured attendees like Rose Byrne, Amy Madigan, Benicio del Toro, and Safdie, who accepted the Best Screenplay award with co-writer Ronald Bronstein.
