Jeff Goldblum attended the unveiling of his Madame Tussauds wax statue at the New York City museum on Wednesday, where the 73-year-old actor posed playfully beside his strikingly lifelike double. The wax figure mirrored Goldblum’s signature style, dressed in a black shirt, pants, jacket, and iconic black-framed glasses. Goldblum himself wore an all-white ensemble and matching glasses for the event.
The unveiling contrasted with past celebrity wax figure mishaps, such as Madame Tussauds Berlin’s 2021 Rihanna statue—criticized for its uncharacteristic festive outfit—and a 2025 Beyoncé figure in England that drew comparisons to actress Leah Remini. Goldblum’s statue, however, earned praise for its accuracy.
The reveal coincided with Goldblum’s promotional tour for Wicked: For Good, the two-part film adaptation of the Broadway musical in which he stars as the Wizard. During a recent interview, director Jon M. Chu described the movie set as playful and collaborative, comparing the atmosphere to a “kindergarten” where the cast, including Ariana Grande (Glinda), Cynthia Erivo (Elphaba), and Jonathan Bailey (Fiyero), felt free to experiment.
Chu shared that early rehearsals took place on the floor of his office, where the actors explored their characters line by line. Despite initial fears about adapting the beloved musical, the first film’s November 2024 release sparked a cultural wave, with fans organizing singalong screenings and Grande and Erivo’s behind-the-scenes chemistry going viral. Chu expressed pride in introducing a new generation to the world of Oz and earning his children’s admiration for his work.
During a Today show appearance, Goldblum highlighted his bond with co-star Jonathan Bailey, simply stating, “We have each other,” and declaring his love for the film.
