Leonardo DiCaprio has declined to reveal the identity of the person he was playfully engaging with during a viral Golden Globes moment. The actor told Deadline he wouldn’t disclose who he spoke to during the event, explaining, “It was directed to a friend, but at the end of the day, who knows if this other person I was talking to wants me to even mention their name?” Quoting a line from A Bronx Tale, he added, “I’m not a rat.”

The incident occurred during a commercial break at the 2026 Golden Globes, where DiCaprio was seen mouthing remarks about K-pop to someone across the room. Video footage showed him laughing and gesturing while saying, “I was watching you when the K-pop thing… You were like, ‘Is that — who is that? Who’s that guy? K-pop?’”

DiCaprio’s One Battle After Another co-star Teyana Taylor initially claimed responsibility for the exchange, telling Access Hollywood, “He was talking to me! Yes!” She later backtracked during an appearance on The Tonight Show, admitting she might have confused the interaction. Taylor speculated that another conversation about K-pop happened that night, joking about feeling “a little friendly jealousy” toward the mystery recipient. “Who else are you chewing your invisible gum with?” she quipped, adding that even DiCaprio seemed unsure of the details: “He didn’t even remember who he was talking to. He was like, ‘I don’t even know.’”
