Olivia “Livvy” Dunne won’t need to worry about impressing her new neighbors with gymnastic feats. The former LSU star and social media influencer recently moved into a West Village apartment building known for its celebrity residents, where locals embrace rubbing shoulders with the famous—and occasionally infamous. This marks a shift from the Upper West Side co-op that notoriously rejected Dunne’s bid to buy Babe Ruth’s former home over concerns about her online presence.
Her new neighbors welcome high-profile figures, provided they maintain the building’s tranquility. “Obviously, there was no question, but we’re very happy when celebrities move in as long as they don’t disrupt the peace,” said resident Tamir Shemesh. Dunne paid $1.95 million for her West 14th Street condo, while other stars like Jerry Seinfeld and Nelly Furtado have rented units there, according to Shemesh. The building has also housed athletes, including ex-New York Rangers players Mats Zuccarello and Carl Hagelin, as well as disgraced Fyre Festival organizer Billy McFarland, who once leased two apartments.
The West Village’s influencer-friendly atmosphere suits Dunne, who is dating Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes. Locals note the area attracts a younger, trend-focused crowd. “She definitely fits the mold,” said a nearby resident. Others, like swim instructor Craig Hain, remain unfazed: “I’m not starstruck. As long as my rent doesn’t go up, good for them.” Actor Victoria Bernasconi added, “This block has a lot of young girls who do Pilates, models… she’s in the right area.” With its vibrant energy and celebrity allure, the neighborhood seems poised to embrace its newest high-profile tenant.
