Megyn Kelly recently discussed some of the least pleasant A-list celebrities she’s encountered in an interview with the Daily Mail. She singled out Jane Fonda as the first who “came to mind,” criticizing the actress for taking offense when questioned about her plastic surgery during a 2017 interview. Kelly clarified she had steered the conversation toward that topic at the request of Fonda’s team to avoid discussing intimate scenes with her co-star Robert Redford, who was reportedly uncomfortable with the subject.
Kelly also mentioned Bruce Willis, describing him as “ungiving” and “unpleasant” during a 2006 Fox News interview, though she expressed sympathy for his ongoing battle with frontotemporal dementia. She recalled Willis appearing visibly unhappy to be part of the interview and questioned why he agreed to participate if he felt that way.
The journalist took aim at Al Roker cryptically, hinting at her mother’s disdain for the “Today” show personality without providing specifics, and referenced Ellen DeGeneres as a “bad person.” Kelly cited a “close family member’s” experience working as a producer on DeGeneres’s show, where staff allegedly had to avert their eyes if they encountered the host in hallways. She claimed prior knowledge of the toxic work environment before the show’s bullying scandal became public in 2020.
On a positive note, Kelly praised Russell Brand as “warm,” Kathie Lee Gifford as “nice,” and Jada Pinkett Smith as “sweet, sincere, and genuine.” Representatives for Fonda, Willis, Roker, and DeGeneres did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
