In a social media post, Brooklyn claimed Victoria canceled plans to design Nicola’s wedding gown “at the eleventh hour,” forcing an urgent replacement. However, fans noted inconsistencies with past reports.
Nicola’s stylist, Leslie Fremar, told Vogue the bride’s custom Valentino gown was meticulously planned over a year, involving two trips to Rome for fittings and detailed collaboration on sketches, fabrics, and embroidery. Peltz described choosing Valentino as “a no-brainer.” Critics questioned how a year-long couture process could align with Brooklyn’s “eleventh hour” narrative, with one user tweeting, “You cannot get a custom Valentino dress last-minute—that’s not how couture works.”
Nicola later clarified to Variety that while she initially intended to wear a Victoria Beckham design, Victoria’s team eventually could not execute it, prompting the switch to Valentino “a few months down the line.” Neither Vogue nor Valentino commented on the discrepancy.
