North West is following in her father Kanye West’s footsteps with a new rap collaboration. The 12-year-old debuted a track titled “Piercing on My Hand (Ye’s version)” on her Instagram Stories, showcasing lyrics about her love for body modifications and bold style.
In the song, North raps: “Piercing on my hand, the other holding bands… I want more piercings and tats / I love blue hair put it in some plaits.” She also references skipping school and flaunting new jewelry, adding, “You’re so angry that I’m so mainstream.”
The release comes after North faced online criticism for her edgy appearance, including multiple finger piercings and a recent nose bridge piercing. Critics questioned the safety and appropriateness of the piercings, with some social media users expressing disbelief that a pre-teen would have such modifications.
After sharing photos of her latest finger piercings this week, her Instagram account briefly went inactive—either removed by her parents or the platform. Her mother, Kim Kardashian, previously defended North’s style choices in a September interview, acknowledging the scrutiny but supporting her daughter’s self-expression.
North has also experimented with fake tattoos and black grills, sparking further debate. Despite the backlash, she continues to embrace her unique aesthetic, both in her music and personal style.
