Oprah Winfrey marked her 72nd birthday with a challenging 72-minute cardio workout in her home gym, documenting the session in an Instagram video. “I never thought I’d spend my birthday doing a workout, let alone a 72-minute one!” she wrote in her post. Dressed in athletic wear, Winfrey tackled multiple machines—including a treadmill, stationary bike, climber, and ski machine—with trainer Peter guiding her routine.

During the intense session, Winfrey appeared breathless at times, joking afterward, “I don’t know my name.” Friends celebrated her completing the milestone by singing Stevie Wonder’s “Happy Birthday.” Reflecting on aging, she emphasized gratitude for her physical capabilities: “As I get older, I am fully aware that it’s a privilege to have a body that can do every machine Trainer Peter throws my way.”

In a separate post, Winfrey shared how turning 72 has reshaped her perspective, noting she began strength training after double knee surgery to maintain muscle mass. She also acknowledged her health journey, including past weight fluctuations and her decision to use GLP-1 medication as a tool for weight management. Winfrey has since adopted habits like sobriety—revealing she once drank 17 shots in a night but now avoids alcohol entirely—and maintains her fitness through hiking, running, and resistance training. She credits partner Stedman Graham for his unwavering support through her body-image challenges.
