Johnny Depp has been referenced in legal documents related to the ongoing dispute between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. According to TMZ, texts from August 2024 between Lively’s husband, Ryan Reynolds, and his agent Warren Zavala revealed Reynolds comparing the situation to Depp’s high-profile defamation case against Amber Heard.

In the exchange, Zavala criticized Baldoni’s ego and alleged he was “laying a trap” through public narratives. Reynolds responded, “How’d that work out for Depp??” — alluding to Depp’s 2022 lawsuit, which awarded him $10.35 million in damages while Heard received $2 million in her counterclaim. Zavala noted that the case “cratered both of them ultimately” and disparaged Baldoni as an “egotistical s**t weasel,” with Reynolds labeling him a “human rounding error.”

Depp is the latest celebrity cited in unsealed documents from the Lively-Baldoni case. Earlier, Jameela Jamil called Lively a “suicide bomber” and “villain” in leaked texts, which a source described as “disappointing.” Taylor Swift also privately criticized Baldoni as a “bitch” with a “tiny violin” but reportedly hasn’t spoken to Lively since mid-2024.

Lively sued Baldoni in December 2024 for alleged sexual harassment during filming of “It Ends With Us,” which Baldoni denied. He later filed a $400 million countersuit against Lively and Reynolds, dismissed by a judge in June 2025. Feud rumors between Lively and Baldoni began circulating in August 2024.
