New York City’s cultural calendar is packed this week with high-profile fashion releases, artistic debuts, and iconic culinary expansions.
The Return of “The Bear” Jacket
The “Gael” wool plaid jacket, famously worn by Jeremy Allen White’s character Carmy in the hit series The Bear, is returning to shelves. With a massive waiting list of 20,000 hopeful buyers, the brand NN.07 is releasing a limited stock at its new SoHo location on September 7, followed by an online drop on September 9. The new store also features various lifestyle goods, including Brooklyn-crafted jewelry, Japanese totes, and specialty fragrances.
Andile Dyalvane at Friedman Benda
Renowned South African ceramicist Andile Dyalvane has launched his fourth solo exhibition, titled “Oonomathotholo: Ancestral Whispers.” Hosted at Friedman Benda through November 2, the show features earthenware vessels inspired by Xhosa heritage. Dyalvane’s esteemed work is featured in major institutions like the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Serendipity3 Expands to Times Square
Seven decades after its Upper East Side debut, the legendary Serendipity3 has opened a new location on West 47th Street. Connected to the OYO Times Square Hotel, the restaurant offers its famous Frrrozen Hot Chocolate alongside new exclusives like a “Sunday Chicken Dinner Sundae” and a full bar. The decor pays tribute to former regular Andy Warhol with vibrant pop art displays.
“Shades of Light” at Galerie56
TriBeCa’s Galerie56, located in the “Jenga” building, is hosting a collaborative exhibition with London’s Sarah Myerscough Gallery. Running through November 6, “Shades of Light” focuses on organic craftsmanship. Highlights include willow chairs grown into shape and then cast in bronze, as well as award-winning turned wood vessels. Visitors can also view a nearby Anish Kapoor sculpture.

Designer Todd Snyder has expanded his New York footprint with a fifth store, located on Madison Avenue and 86th Street. Catering to the professional and sophisticated shopper, the 2,700-square-foot space offers custom tailoring, high-end footwear collaborations, vintage watches, and exclusive eyewear. The location provides premium perks like same-day courier delivery and an on-site tailor.
