Amy Madigan has never given in to external pressures regarding cosmetic procedures. “I don’t listen to any of that,” the 75-year-old actress, known for her role in “Weapons,” exclusively told Page Six at the New York Film Critics Circle Awards. She emphasized her personal choice, stating, “People are entitled to their opinions, but that’s not me. I have no issue with others doing what they want—it’s just not for me.”
Madigan, married to actor Ed Harris, noted the disparity in work opportunities they’ve faced as they aged, with Harris consistently finding roles while she experienced gaps. Yet she remains unresentful, explaining, “I don’t dwell on that. It’s part of life. You won’t always be working, and navigating opportunities becomes trickier with age. I don’t put that pressure on myself.” She credited Harris as a steadfast supporter who encouraged her, “You’re in a perfect spot—something great will come.” Though she initially doubted his optimism, she acknowledged their mutual encouragement over the years.
That “something great” materialized with her role in “Weapons,” a mystery horror film about 17 children who vanish simultaneously. The film also stars Josh Brolin, Julia Garner, and Alden Ehrenreich. At the awards, Madigan accepted Best Supporting Actress for her performance. She was introduced by former co-star Gaby Hoffmann, whom she worked with on “Field of Dreams” and “Uncle Buck.” Hoffmann, 44, humorously recalled their last meeting when she was a child and shared her admiration for Madigan’s maternal warmth on set—alongside a childhood crush on co-star Ray Liotta, whom she whimsically believed would propose.
