Zayn Malik was described as “jealous” by a music industry insider after appearing to reference former One Direction bandmate Harry Styles’ high concert ticket prices during his Las Vegas show. “He is jealous,” the source told Page Six, alleging Malik initially set high prices for his residency at Dolby Live but had to reduce them to as low as $20 due to lack of demand. The insider claimed, “It’s unfair for him to take a cheap shot at Harry when he’s doing the same as every other artist,” adding Malik “can’t get people to pay” premium prices for his shows. Representatives for both artists didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.
The two singers rose to fame as One Direction members alongside Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and the late Liam Payne, who died in 2024. The band formed on the UK’s “The X Factor” in 2010 and disbanded in 2016, a year after Malik left. Tension rumors surfaced over the years, including Styles joking about solo careers during a 2017 Celebrity Family Feud appearance and appearing to forget Malik’s name during a 2019 “SNL” monologue. These rumors quieted when both attended Payne’s funeral in November 2024.
At his Wednesday Las Vegas show, Malik told the crowd, “You could have been anywhere, but you decided to spend your night with me—hopefully the ticket prices weren’t too high,” with a smirk. The comment appeared to reference Styles’ upcoming “Together, Together” tour (May-December 2026), where London ticket prices reportedly range from $60.80 to $642.76. Fans have criticized the costs online, with one calling them “asinine” and another noting they equaled “3 biweekly paychecks.”
