Berk shared a lighthearted Instagram post Wednesday, asking followers about their week while promoting his new HGTV show “Junk or Jackpot!” Fans applauded him for steering clear of the drama, with one commenting on his focus on new projects and another noting his “impeccable timing.”
Berk appeared on eight seasons of Netflix’s “Queer Eye” alongside Karamo Brown, Tan France, Jonathan Van Ness, and Antoni Porowski until 2023. He explained his exit in a 2024 Vanity Fair interview, stating his contract had ended and he believed filming had concluded before Netflix later offered renewed contracts.
Meanwhile, Brown recently withdrew from a scheduled “CBS Mornings” appearance with France, Van Ness, Porowski, and Jeremiah Brent, citing concerns about being “bullied” and prioritizing his mental health. In a letter read by host Gayle King, Brown urged others to “protect their mental peace.” Porowski called the situation “surprising,” describing their “Queer Eye” dynamic as a “complicated family,” while Van Ness emphasized supporting people “where they’re at.”
Tensions reportedly began when Brown’s mother allegedly overheard castmates criticizing him during a hot-mic incident on set last year. As of Tuesday, Brown only follows Jeremiah Brent on Instagram among his former co-stars.
