Brooklyn Beckham has reportedly asked his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, to cease direct contact with him and communicate only through legal representatives. According to the Daily Mail, the 26-year-old exchanged letters with his parents via their legal teams last summer, stipulating they should not reach out to him personally or comment about him publicly on social media. This request allegedly followed Brooklyn’s frustration over anonymous briefings that portrayed him as being “controlled” by his wife, Nicola Peltz, and likened him to a “hostage.”
A source claimed, “David was told to speak to them via [law firm] Schillings. That was the only way for them to communicate.” Representatives for Brooklyn and David did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
The family tensions surfaced publicly last month when Brooklyn’s brother Cruz, 20, refuted claims that David and Victoria had unfollowed Brooklyn on Instagram, clarifying it was Brooklyn who blocked them. “NOT TRUE. My mum and dad would never unfollow their son,” Cruz wrote, adding, “They woke up blocked — as did I.”
Despite Brooklyn’s absence from David’s year-end Instagram recap featuring their other children—Cruz, Romeo (23), and Harper (14)—David later shared a throwback image with Brooklyn on his Instagram Story, expressing gratitude for his family: “You are my life. I love you all, Love Daddy.” Victoria reposted the photo.
An insider told Us Weekly in October that Brooklyn had “no interest” in reconciling with his family, preferring instead to focus on a “peaceful, drama-free life” with his wife. The family rift continues while David and Victoria maintain public efforts to show affection for their eldest son.
