Lisa Rinna is retracting her previous “stalker” remark about her “Traitors” co-star Colton Underwood after his past restraining order controversy resurfaced, leading to the reality star receiving death threats.
The 62-year-old “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alum addressed the situation on her Instagram Stories Saturday, urging followers to “please be gentle” with Underwood. She explained that her provocative social media post – made in her signature “housewife mode” – had escalated beyond their on-screen rivalry.
Rinna clarified that she and Underwood maintain a positive relationship, calling him “a great nemesis” on the Peacock series. “We’ve been texting,” she revealed, expressing regret that her game-related comment sparked real-world backlash. “I don’t want to hurt anybody. I’m here to play the game and have fun.”
She specifically pleaded with fans: “Don’t send death threats or do anything to jeopardize somebody’s family,” emphasizing that their conflict was purely for entertainment.
The controversy stems from Rinna responding “Let’s talk about you being a stalker” to a fan post about Underwood accusing her of being a “Traitor” on the show. This reference called attention to a 2020 restraining order filed by Underwood’s ex-girlfriend Cassie Randolph, which alleged stalking behavior including placing a tracking device on her car. The order was dropped months later.
“The Traitors” production team issued a statement Saturday condemning online harassment: “We are committed to making our cast feel safe, respected and supported… There’s a difference between discussing a show and targeting individuals.” They asked viewers to avoid “unwarranted negativity and personal attacks.”
