Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have rejoined forces with the public relations firm Sunshine Sachs Morgan & Lylis (SSML), a prominent agency that also represents celebrities like Leonardo DiCaprio and Ben Affleck. The couple will collaborate with the firm alongside their internal communications team, which includes Liam Maguire, their UK and Europe director of communications.
SSML has a longstanding relationship with the Sussexes, having represented Markle during her acting career on “Suits” and partnered with the couple since 2017. Keleigh Thomas Morgan, a co-president at SSML, even attended their 2018 royal wedding.
Since relocating to North America after stepping back from royal duties in 2020, Markle and Harry have faced challenges retaining publicists. Their 11th publicist, Meredith Maines, resigned in December following controversy over their attendance at Kris Jenner’s 70th birthday celebration. At the event, held at Jeff Bezos’ Beverly Hills mansion, the pair mingled with high-profile guests, but Jenner and Kim Kardashian later deleted social media photos with them. Sources claimed the couple requested the removal to avoid complicating potential reconciliation efforts with the royal family.
The Sussexes have also experienced other staff departures recently. James Holt, head of their Archewell Philanthropies charity, announced his exit last month, following the departures of former senior staffers Genevieve Roth, Christine Schirmer, and Ashley Hansen.
