Morgan explained he stumbled inside a London hotel restaurant, fell heavily, and suffered a fractured femur severe enough to necessitate a hip replacement. His recovery will involve using crutches for six weeks and avoiding long-haul flights for three months.
In his characteristically humorous tone, Morgan sarcastically remarked that his “New Year is off to a cracking start” and jokingly blamed former U.S. President Donald Trump for the mishap. The broadcaster previously supported Trump but denounced him following the January 6 Capitol riots, stating Trump had “crossed every line of basic human decency” by inciting violence and attacking democratic processes.
Morgan also recently criticized Trump for inflammatory comments about director Rob Reiner and his wife. The commentator previously judged alongside Trump on “The Apprentice” and served as a judge on “America’s Got Talent.”
