Sydney Sweeney encountered significant criticism in 2025, and Nikki Glaser had a biting joke ready to amplify it at the 2026 Golden Globes. The comedian disclosed during an appearance on Sirius XM’s “The Howard Stern Show” that she crafted a harsh quip about Sweeney’s box office disappointment, the biopic “Christy,” in which the actress portrayed lesbian boxer Christy Martin. Glaser’s scrapped line joked, “Sydney Sweeney played a lesbian who bounced around in tiny shorts for two hours, and the film made $14.”

Glaser also shared other unused jokes targeting absent A-listers. For Brad Pitt, nominated for his role in “F1,” she planned to mock Hollywood’s age disparities: “At 60, men play race car drivers, while women over 35 get stuck as tired moms.” She added a jab about Pitt’s driving skills: “Your blinker was on the whole time.”

Sean Penn, who attended the ceremony, received only a mild tease about resembling a “sexy leather handbag.” Glaser confessed she held back harsher jokes, including mocking his “neck veins” and “lower eyelids,” to avoid upsetting him.

Jonathan Bailey, named People’s 2025 “Sexiest Man Alive,” narrowly avoided a joke highlighting him as the first openly gay winner: “Looking at past winners, yeah, we needed to specify ‘openly.’” Julia Roberts, deemed “untouchable,” was spared a gag questioning if anyone had seen her film “After the Hunt”: “The hunt was for someone who’s seen it.”

Despite these cuts, Glaser roasted attendees like Leonardo DiCaprio for dating younger women and Timothée Chalamet for his slim physique.
