Prince William is reportedly intent on addressing the controversies surrounding his uncle, the former Prince Andrew, according to royal biographer Andrew Lownie. In an interview, Lownie, author of “Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York,” claimed William seeks to resolve Andrew’s status before King Charles passes away. “He wants the stables cleaned,” Lownie stated, suggesting Andrew may exit the public eye by spring under the facade of compliance—though he anticipates the disgraced royal will resist fiercely, demanding extensive resources like a large home and staff.
Andrew, stripped of his royal title earlier this year amid ties to convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, was also evicted from his Royal Lodge residence. He now goes by Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, while his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, lost her Duchess of York title. Virginia Giuffre, an Epstein trafficking victim who accused Andrew of sexual abuse when she was 17, received a multimillion-dollar settlement from him in 2022 before her death in April. Newly released emails from Epstein’s files allegedly show Andrew asking Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell for “new inappropriate friends.”
Lownie, updating his book with new claims, says numerous sources—including former colleagues, staff, and intelligence officials—have shared stories of Andrew’s misconduct, such as hiring sex workers in Hong Kong and harassing protection officers with unwanted physical contact. He also alleges Ferguson has distanced herself from Andrew, viewing him as “toxic,” and aims to reinvent her public image. Andrew, Lownie notes, is devastated by losing his title, having once prioritized his princely status above all else.
