Teddi Mellencamp commemorated the one-year anniversary of her brain surgery with an emotional Instagram post. The former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star shared a hospital photo alongside a caption recounting her sudden health crisis, revealing she initially visited the ER thinking she had migraines only to discover plum-sized stage 4 brain tumors requiring immediate surgery. Though acknowledging lingering anxiety, she expressed gratitude for medical staff, supportive loved ones, and fans’ encouragement, urging followers: “Trust your instincts. Get checked.”

Mellencamp, 44, was diagnosed with stage 2 melanoma in October 2022 and has since endured over a dozen surgeries, including the emergency brain operation in February 2025. While she announced in October 2025 that her stage 4 cancer was “gone,” she clarified she isn’t officially in remission. Her estranged husband, Edwin Arroyave, shared that ongoing immunotherapy treatments severely impact her mental health, describing her psychological struggle as “one of the toughest battles” since her diagnosis.

The mother of three—who shares children Slate, 13, Cruz, 11, and Dove, 5, with Arroyave—recently turned to therapy. On her “Two Ts in a Pod” podcast, Mellencamp confessed she hadn’t properly processed her traumatic surgery, separation from her children during treatment, or her divorce after 13 years of marriage. During a Page Six “Virtual Reali-Tea” appearance, she noted her physical improvement but emphasized ongoing mental health challenges: “What we don’t often talk about is how you feel after all the surgeries and testing. I’ve been working really hard to find peace, happiness, and myself again.”
